About
QRA has a number of mandatory reporting requirements under the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
Evaluation is a thorough way for QRA to demonstrate the Category C and D packages we invest in are making a difference.
Approach
The objectives for measurement for each evaluation are to examine whether a package:
- responded to community needs over time (appropriately and efficiently)
- contributed (effectively) to the achievement of package, and recovery and resilience objectives.
Evidence gathered through evaluation is intended to contribute to the existing knowledge base of disaster recovery and resilience in Queensland (and Australia more broadly).
The Monitoring and Evaluation initiative is jointly funded under Category C Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) by the State and Commonwealth. It is administered and delivered by QRA’s Evaluation Team, within the Resilience and Recovery Division.
Evaluation activities
Current evaluation activities are being undertaken for several event-specific portfolios, including:
- 2024-25 North and Far North Tropical Low.
- 2023-24 South Queensland Severe Storms
- 2023-24 Ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper
- 2023-24 Southern Queensland Bushfires
