Stronger Homes Grant Program

About 

The Stronger Homes Grant Program supports flood-affected homeowners in eligible local government areas access to grants to help rebuild their homes for long-term flood resilience. 

Eligible homeowners can access grants of up to $10,000 for works such as raising essential services like electrical switchboards, hot water systems and air-conditioning, data and electrical points, and help protect parts of their homes from flood damage.

North and Far North Tropical Low, 29 January – 28 February 2025 (AGRN 1774) LGAs: 

Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and flooding, 21 March – 19 May 2025 (AGRN 1202) – Severely impacted LGAs: 

• Barcoo Shire Council
• Bulloo Council
• Quilpie Shire Council

Queensland Monsoon Trough, Cyclone Koji, Cyclone Narelle and Severe Weather commencing 24 December 2025 (AGRN 1243) – Severely impacted LGAs:

• Bundaberg Regional Council
• Cassowary Coast Regional Council
• Etheridge Shire Council
• Hinchinbrook Shire Council
• Isaac Regional Council
• Mackay Regional Council
• Rockhampton
• Western Downs Regional Council
• Whitsunday Regional Council

• Winton Shire Council

Funding acknowledgement

The Stronger Homes Grant program is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments through efficiencies realised in delivery of Queensland’s Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements reconstruction program.
